Nokia N97 Mini Appears In Press Photo

Here’s the first official picture of Nokia’s upcoming N97 Mini handset. It’s said that the N97 Mini will have nearly the same features like the original N97, except for a few changes which will include a redesigned QWERTY keypad, an 8GB of internal memory and no lens cover. The N97 Mini will probably assemble its debut during Nokia World 2009 next week. [Be Geek via Unwiredview]

A company called gScreen, based in Alaska, has created a two-screen laptop that’s the first I’ve seen to feature full size screens side-by-side. A strange sliding mechanism has the screens sandwiched together when the laptop is closed, but the one in back goes to the left and the one in front goes to the right until they’re side-by-side. The picture shows gScreen’s dual dual 15.4-inch unit, but company plans dual 16- or 17-inch screens. The laptops will run Windows 7 powered by Intel Core 2 Duo chips. The company plans to have these out by Christmas starting at less than $3,000, so be good for goodness sake! (Props to Gizmodo)

I have liked boxing sense the days of Tyson and when it comes to boxing video games, I started on Punch Out back in the Nintendo days. I haven’t tried a boxing game on my iPhone, but I am thinking about trying that new one from Handmark.

down4count

The game is called Down 4 the Count and it uses the multitouch interface of the iPhone to control the fighter. To punch you touch the screen, dodging punches is done with a swipe and you hold the screen to block a punch.

The game supports the ability to prepare your own playlist of your personal tracks. Players can choose from ten different opponents in bouts lasting up to three rounds. To progress you have to knock out different fighters. You can grab the app now on the App Store for 99 cents.

In areas like mine where you have only pop and country stations, you need satellite radio. Assuming those aren’t your favorite genres of music. Sirius XM radio has a new kit for iPhone and iPod users that makes the device a satellite radio controller.

xmskydock

The SkyDock reminds me a lot of something from Belkin and is designed to hold your iPhone or iPod touch and charge it while you use the device to control your satellite radio. The app automatically adjusts to landscape or portrait mode.

The music is sent through the cars electrical system to the radio with PowerConnect mode or can be used with a line out. CNET says that the beta app it tested arised to work very smoothly. The SkyDock will sell for $120 that fall and requires a radio subscription.

The impression with Sony Ericsson , recently, is of little activity, whilst the reality is they have announced and released some high quality handsets recently. What hasn’t helped their cause is the recent unreliability of top end handsets, such as the well documented ear piece problem with the C905 , but with phones like the W995 , C901 and the much anticipated Satio on the go, Sony Ericsson are showing they still have what it takes to produce market leading devices.
