Following on from Orange’s recent iPhone announcement , Vodafone have hit back that to announce they too will be offering the handset in the new year, locked in talks for sometime it is reported the agreement was signed last night. A pricewar is now likely with O2, Orange and now Vodafone selling the handset, good news for consumers, but what about other handset manufacturers, how will they react to avoid losing out to the iPhone with Apple’s increased sales coverage?. Exciting times for Vodafone in addition to their recent announcement of Vodafone 360 .

Samsung SCH-W880 12MP Camera Phone

The Samsung SCH-W880 is claimed as “the world’s first 12MP camera phone with a 3x optical zoom.” The handset plus features a 6x digital zoom with auto focus, an image stabilization, a face detection, a Xenon flash and 720p video recording at 30fps. Additional specs include a 3.3-inch AMOLED WVGA touchscreen display and a 4GB of internal memory. The Samsung SCH-W880 will be available in South Korea next month. [SamsungHub]

One of the biggest news stories in the last week was the announcement by Vodafone, regarding the new mobile service they are pioneering called Vodafone 360 . that is a new approach to integrating online services via a mobile device, and will eventually replace the Vodafone Live service. Currently the Vodafone 360 is projected to work on the Nokia N85, Nokia 6730 (Both Symbian devices) plus plus on two new and yet to be released phones, the Vodafone 360 M1 and 360 H1.

LG BL20 Chocolate Confirmed

Still remember the LG BL20 Chocolate that we posted last week? LG today confirmed the handset. According to LG’s own website, the slider will be available very soon for about €269 ($393). The LG BL20 Chocolate features a 2.4-inch QVGA TFT display with 262k colors (240 × 320 resolution), a 5MP shooter with Autofocus and LED flash, a built-in FM radio, and a media player that supports WMA, AMR, MIDI, AAC, AAC+, MP3, 3GP. MP3s file formats. The phone measures 106.9mm x 50.8mm x 12.3mm and weights 119grams. Watch the video after the jump to get more details.

Samsung C5130 - 3G Entry-Level Slider

Samsung is preparing to launch another entry-level phone for the mass market. Dubbed as the Samsung C5130, that slider phone features a 2-inch 176 x 144 pixels display with 262K colors, a 1.3MP camera, a music player, an FM radio, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 2.0 and supports both quad-band GSM/EDGE as well as 3G (UMTS) connectivities. Pricing and release moment are still unknown at the moment.

The first Android based smartphone from Acer – Acer A1,  is going to hit the markets: it’s available for pre-order at Expansys . Apparently, the A1 will run Android 2.0, although that version of Android OS hasn’t been officially announced yet. Among other specifications we should mention the processor Qualcomm 8250 at 768MHz.
