Samsung will release a successor to the previously released Samsung S5600 Preston. Known as the Samsung S5620 Monte, that handset will feature a 3-inch touchscreen display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS support and a microSD memory card slot. The S5620 Monte will additionally support Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. No word on when the Samsung S5620 Monte will be available for purchase. We will keep you posted.

iPhone owning fans of the Mass Effect 2 video game will get a glimpse of the Dark Horse Mass Effect Redemption comic as a free download on February 3. After the free into the app will be 99 cents.

Nokia reminded Apple that it was in fact the larger mobile phone company that week. The reminder came after Jobs said that Apple was the largest mobile device company.

Wired has posted up a review of the iPhone game Crush the Castle. The game sells for $1.99 and is said to be well worth the money.

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy 2 will be powered by Google’s Android OS, possibly Android 2.1. The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera, a 32GB internal memory, GPS and WiFi. that handset is a good competitor for the Nexus One and Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Expected release duration is Q2 2010 but we are certain Samsung will assemble the official announcement at MWC in Barcelona next month. [Androphones]
