Vodafone UK has just announced the availability of Samsung’s latest Android smartphone ‘Galaxy 551′ on their network. The handset is being offered for free on pay monthly plans from £20.42. As a reminder, the Galaxy 551 sports a 3.2-inch 240 x 400 capacitive touchscreen display, a 667MHz processor, a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, a side-slide QWERTY keyboard, a 160MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and runs on Android 2.2 Froyo OS. Desk Phone Dock with iPhone Cradle and more

Behind my desk, I like to use my iPhone to pick-up and invent phone calls. However whether you need to lookup something on your computer, you need your hands. A normal phone size is thick sufficient to hold it amoung your ear and shoulders so handsfree calls are possible. You can't with an iPhone considering it is thin and slippery.

Monster has pulled the wraps off a cool new adapter to hook your iPhone to your car stereo via an aux input. The adapter lets you skip forward and backwards in your music playlist using gestures.

The official IRS app has landed for the iPhone. The app lets the user check on the status of their refund check and it is called IRS2Go.

A class action lawsuit has been filed by the Apple “glassgate” row. that suit is by the fragility of the glass on the phone and how easy it is to break. The legal assault comes considering Apple claimed the iPhone 4 is 20 times stiffer and 30 times harder than plastic.

Samsung Wise Classic And Wise contemporary Phones For The Elderly

Samsung has launched the Wise Classic (SHC-Z100S) and Wise contemporary (SHC-Z140S/SHW-A240S) phones in the South Korean market. Both handsets are designed for senior citizens due to its simple design and use. The Wise Classic has a 2.6-inch internal display, a 2.2-inch external display, T-DMB, a 3MP camera, a music player and a microSD card slot. The phone additionally features a luxurious looking diamond-pattern design with a mixture of dark brown and rose gold accents.

The Wise contemporary is available in 2G network and 3G models. Both devices feature a simple clamshell design with a large keypad and a Wise user interface. The phone has a 2.6-inch internal display with a smaller 1.77-inch external, a 2MP camera, an FM Radio, a pedometer support, a microSD card slot and a committed shortcut button. The Samsung Wise Classic and Wise contemporary are priced at 500,000 Won ($449) and 400,000 Won ($359), respectively. [SamsungHub]

Scosche unveiled the new flipSYNC II at CES a few weeks back. It has announced that the iPhone and iPad specific version of the cable is now available for about $20; the new versions have full size connectors.

AT&T has unveiled that it has had 4.1 million iPhones activated in Q4 2010. It plus noted that 442,000 iPads and other tablets were activated as well.

Motorola has acknowledged that its sales have slumped. The slump is in anticipation of the iPhone hitting Verizon and started in December before the official announcement was made.
