Karbonn-A5+-Android-Smartphone

Karbonn Mobiles has released a new Android smartphone for the Indian market called the Karbonn A5+. The handset is now available to buy in India via Infibeam for only Rs 4,899 outright (about $89). Specs-wise, the A5+ packs a 3.5-inch 480 x 320 capacitive touchscreen display, a 1GHz single-core processor, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), dual SIM card slots (GSM+GSM), a 3MP rear-facing camera, HSDPA, WiFi, a 1420mAh battery and runs on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread OS. Black Eyed Peas rapper Will.i.am has launched his new line of iPhone accessories with three new products. The three products are bodies for the iPhone that add features such as a keyboard and cameras in range in price from about $300-$500.

Google has updated the Chrome browser for iOS devices. The update brings fixes for bugs and new features for iPhone users including the ability to open PDF files in other applications and support for Passbook.

Rumors are circulating that chipmaker TSMC might not have the capacity to handle the demand for Apple CPUs. Some fear that the incredible demand for chips from Apple might leave TSMC unable to supply for other manufacturers and could be part of the reason for poor availability of some Apple product launch.

Specs-wise, the handset will feature a 5.0-inch 854 x 480 IPS touchscreen display, a 1GHz MTK6577 dual-core processor, a 512MB RAM, a 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), dual SIM card slots (GSM + WCDMA), dual cameras (0.3MP front & 8MP rear), an FM tuner, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 2000mAh battery and run on Android 4.0.4 ICS OS. New statistics from Kantar indicate that Apple has regained the top spot in the global smartphone market. Apple fell from the top spot last month as public stop buying the old version of the iPhone with the iPhone 5 set to launch. Kantar’s stats show that the iPhone 5 is pushed Apple back to the top.

TomTom has officially updated its navigation app for the iPhone 5 and iOS 6. The app does lose Google Local Search in the update.

Fans of the streaming music app Rdio will be glad to prepare out that the app has been updated for iPhone users. The updated app is available for download right now on the App Store.

Fans of digital reading in the UK will soon be able to get an updated version of the Barnes & Noble Nook app for the iPhone. The updated app adds support for British English and other languages along with VoiceOver functionality and more.

Virgin Mobile and Bell are now offering to unlock iPhones assuming customers are willing to pony up a large fee and meet a couple stipulations. The fee is $75 payable via a credit card and you have to be a post-paid Virgin or Mobility customer while owning the iPhone outright.

The Google Voice app for the iPhone 5 has been updated. The updated app patches a few bugs and allows the use of the entire four-inch iPhone 5 screen.
