Apple and Samsung have been embroiled in a patent infringement battle around the world. Reports indicate Samsung is now facing a potential $15 billion fine from the European Commission for its attempt to get assured Apple products banned in Europe.

Apple has dropped a Samsung device from its patent suit against the Korean company. Apple removed the Galaxy S III Mini from the suit considering it hasn’t been officially released in the US.

Microsoft is reportedly trying to entice developers who are currently working predominantly on the iOS platform to become developers for Windows 8 and RT. Microsoft has reportedly invited a choose group of iOS developers to Microsoft HQ to talk about developing Windows apps.

A new patent application has showed up from Apple that hints future smartphones and other products may use glass that is no longer flat. The patent application outlines a method of creating curved glass. Rather than forming glass in a curved pattern, the patent shows the process of taking normal flat sheets of glass in curbing into the desired contour.

Artwork included with the patent application shows a contour that looks particularly well-suited to a mouse. Perhaps that is how Apple will construct its next-generation mice. whether you’re the sort who likes to jailbreak your iPhone, the Auxo app switcher for iOS 6 is now available on the Cydia app store.

The designers behind the POP charger have announced that the project is back on. Previously the company had told backers that it would be issuing refunds after Apple refused to give the project its approval. However, Apple has now changed its rules regarding the Lightning connector and the charger project will move forward.

Apple has announced that it has been granted a patent for a micro SIM card connector. The connector will work in multiple devices including tablets, smartphones, and more.

The project has been gathering an impressive amount of funding on Kickstarter called the POP. The device is a charger that was intended to work with the new Apple lighting connector. The project has now failed considering the creators were unable to secure the Apple licensing rights to the Lighting connector and is trying to refund the money with a few caveats.

A new iOS 6 jailbreak scam is making the rounds trying to get iPhone users to pay $28 for acclaimed untethered jailbreak. However, the jailbreak is fake and doesn’t exist.
