The Remote application for the iPhone and iPod Touch have been updated and can now be downloaded from the App Store. Version 1.1 is free and adds remote functions for Apple TV and iTunes. It works by your Wi-Fi network, so it’s a pretty convenient way to stay up to moment.

According to MacRumors, the 1.1 update adds two new features including:

Create Genius playlists

Create and edit playlists in iTunes

These features go along with what the Remote app could previously do, such as allow you to control your iTunes music, in either iTunes or on Apple TV, view album artwork, turn up or down the volume on your AirTunes speakers and perform searches of your iTunes library.
